MEET ACE
Alicia “Ace” West is one of the top Black voices in Canada to follow. Alicia known as Ace, is one half of the new daily morning show on Flow 98.7 called Ace and Marlon In The Morning. She can also be heard on the Extra Gravy Show, a weekly comedic podcast discussing black culture, life and beyond. Alicia recently launched her own podcast called Wait…I’m a Mom?! where she shares her ever changing experiences through motherhood along with other notable moms. Outside of the radio and podcast world, Alicia has been the in-stadium host for the Toronto Argonauts since 2021 and previously a PA announcer for the CEBL’s Scarborough Sooting Stars inaugural season and championship season.
Alicia’s pursuit of growth and success has taken her to Washington, DC for an internship with CBS Radio, New York for the WEEN Academy and Detroit to work for Radio One before coming back to Toronto in 2018 for her first stint with Flow 93.5 as a midday host. Since being back in her home city, Ace has hosted many stages like Nick Cannon’s Wild N’ Out Live, Toronto’s Festival of Beer, Afro Chic featuring Insecure’s creator and star Issa Rae, Sheridan College Black History Month firechat and JA Central’s annual women’s day event. She’s also been an event host and moderator for brands like Jordan, Nike, Footlocker, Proline+, Shea Moisture, Shark Ninja, NBA and the WNBA.
In 2019 she moderated a one-on-one conversation with the Grammy nominated Jessie Reyez for the once annual OVO Summit. With over 50 noteworthy interviews under her belt, she has chatted with NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh, Ice Cube, Saweetie, DaBaby, Wiz Khalifa, Bryson Tiller, 6lack, Kranium, Ella Mai, Michael B. Jordan, and Rae Sremmurd just to name a few. Alicia was
Alicia has a successful influencer career where she works with major brands to create content for their campaigns. Some of the big brands she’s worked with are Intact Insurance, Miller Genuine Draft, Puma, Scotiabank, AMEX, Samsung, LG, Procter & Gamble, Snickers, OLG, Proline+, Coors Light, Courvoisier, Footlocker, Aveeno and more. She’s been able to cultivate her marketing skills through her personal brand but also through previous corporate jobs at Warner Music, Spin Master Toys, Isobar, etc.
Pre-pandemic, Alicia held the annual Just Ace It brunches connecting Black professionals in music, sports and entertainment. She launched a community giveback for back-to-school in her childhood neighborhood, and the Love Yourz Project, an initiative to show love and support to youth, women and men on holidays like Valentine’s Day, Women’s Day, and Father’s Day.
Alicia “Ace” West has been featured on The Source, Bossip, Hypebae, Blavity, CNK Daily, and seen multiple times on TMZ Live. She is CIBWE’s 2019 Top 100 Black Women in Canada honouree, named Bumble’s 25 Trailblazing Women in Toronto, Wealthy’s Top 30 Millennial’s to Watch in Detroit and the 2019 Caribbean-Canadian Young Professional award winner. Alicia has sat as a judge for the 2019 Juno Awards, 2019 Prism Project, 2020 MVP Project juror and 2020 Allan Slaight Juno Master Class juror.
